Additional Information
 
  • Drinking water: Running water is pumped from the lake and filtered in the kitchen, but we recommend bringing municipally sourced drinking water.

  • Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage, but the screened-in gazebo offers a sheltered outdoor option.

Guest Expectations & Cottage Guidelines

Respect & Consideration

  • Be mindful of neighbours—sound carries easily over the water. Keep noise levels reasonable, and if hosting a gathering, please keep it indoors.

  • Leave the cottage as you found it—basic cleaning supplies are provided. A $155 cleaning fee applies to all stays.

  • Septic system awareness—please follow guidelines for responsible water and waste use. We’re happy to provide details if needed.

  • 4 adult life jackets & some kids' sizes (bringing properly fitting jackets for children is recommended)

  • Swimsuits, water toys, & floaties (we have some, but you may want extras!)

  • Insect repellent & sunscreen

  • Personal hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer)

  • Fishing gear & live bait (if you plan to fish)

  • Flashlights (it gets dark at night!)

  • Your favourite entertainment (music, books, downloaded shows for offline use)

  • Toys & games for kids (we have some, but feel free to bring favourites!)

Located just 5 km from Gravenhurst, the cottage offers easy access to some of the best activities and attractions in Muskoka. Whether you're looking for outdoor adventures, cultural experiences, or a relaxing day on the water, there’s something for everyone.

 

Local Towns & Attractions

  • Gravenhurst (5 km) – Stroll the Muskoka Wharf, visit the Farmers' Market (Wednesdays in summer), and explore events like the Antique & Classic Boat Show and Dockside Festival of the Arts.

  • Bala (15 min drive) – Home to the Bala Cranberry Festival, charming shops, and scenic waterfalls.

  • Bracebridge (25 min drive) – Enjoy attractions like High Falls, Santa’s Village, and great restaurants.

 

On the Water

  • Launch your boat into Lake Muskoka at the free boat launch (just 3.5 km away) and explore the big lakes.

  • No boat? Cruise aboard the historic steamships RMS Segwun (built in 1887) and Wenonah II for a scenic tour of Muskoka.
